My Favorite Fitness Resources

Fitness is somewhat of a new concept to me.

I was never the girl in sports, I didn’t watch it, play it, or understand it. I was the girl in theater… or smoking cigarettes under the bleachers. So fitness and working out wasn’t a natural thing for me.

But overtime, I’ve allowed myself to reshape my idea of it and give it a new meaning. I let go of the “standards” I thought I had to live by in order to work out (I don’t have to go to the gym everyday. I don’t have to be sore or feel a burn with every workout). I’ve learned, for the most part, how to avoid burnout and how to not feel down about myself for not living up to preconceived ideas.

It all started with light yoga/stretching. It moved into light weight-lifting. Then I discovered cycling. And now I can confidently say that I do enjoy working out and pushing myself and trying new things.

Here’s my favorite resources, products and more:

Excercise Bike

I love this bike. It’s sturdy enough to stand and peddle. It’s got a good amount of resistance for climbs. It even comes with an app so you can just use that on your phone if you wanted to. But it does have a laptop/iPad holder. I have a Samsung laptop that folds back into a tablet and it’s perfect. It feels like a Peloton! You can see that in the photo above.

Fitbit Luxe Tracker

I never wanted a smart watch but I got to the point where I really wanted to see my heartrate. I knew that if I could see how hard my body was working, I would either feel validated or motivated to push harder. This one is perfect because it’s not overly flashy, you can read texts/notifications and it’s very thin (perfect for small wrists like mine!)

Alo Warrior Mat

Say goodbye to slipping on the yoga mat. I can say that with so much confidence; this will be the grippiest mat you find. It’s worth the money. It’s thick and substantial. I will say, don’t get a bright color.. the material will show spots and wear rather easy but again, the grip is worth it imo.

Peloton App

Wow. I don’t have enough room to type this one out. I love this app so much that I cancelled my gym membership.
It’s not all cycling.. actually it’s mostly not cycling haha. They have yoga, weights, stretching, running, rowing, bootcamps and so much more. You can use it on your phone, tv, laptop, and stream it on anything.

You eventually start to have favorite instructors too and I really feel like I know these people. They are so motivating and a lot of my new favorite motivating quotes came from them.

I highly recommend. If you use the button below, you should be able to get a 60 day free pass!

Sean Vigue Yoga

Are you wanting a free option instead? Sean Vigue has definitely changed mine and Dylan’s life, no joke. We weren’t into the idea of yoga because we aren’t very “namaste” kind of people and the soft-spoken voices kinda irked me but Sean.. he approaches yoga from a fundamental standpoint and teaches his videos very straightforward and simply. His target audience is men which is also kind of fun and he’s just overall very relatable and easy to follow.
